Facility Technician
Full Time Position
Duties & Responsibilites
-
Works in collaboration with the Manager to establish and maintain relationships with vendors regarding contracts, pending proposals and work-in-progress. Negotiates bids, evaluates service received and ensures that the vendor is providing quality products, exceptional services and competitive prices.

Performs minor electrical, plumbing, painting, masonry, and carpentry work.

Updates and performs inventory tagging and maintenance or tracking system for all building assets.

Assesses and tracks orders, receiving and stocking incoming supplies/products and distributes appropriately.

Appraise maintenance of all security systems to include building security/surveillance, nurse call/patient security systems.

Promotes security measures and procedures for building safety and access.

Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remounts modular offices and space to accommodate user needs and maximize office space.

Performs daily preventive maintenance inspections (PMI’s) of facilities plant equipment, including but not limited to, refrigeration & air-conditioning as assigned.

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with affiliates of the organization within and outside of the office.

Upholds and maintains the organization’s cost containment efforts without jeopardizing the quality of hospice care.

Observes and promotes sound safety practices.

Assists with compilation and organizing of procedural maintenance books, including MSDS information.

Follows all agency policies and procedures of Hawaii Care Choices.

Participates in meetings and committees as assigned or requested.

Assists with coordinates of external inspections for compliance.

Maintain landscape planting by clearing and trimming hedges, shrubbery, tree branches, fronds and limbs; watering vegetation, weeding and transplanting.

Lawn maintenance using walk-behind mowers, weed-whacker and blower etc.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements

Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
-
Knowledge of building construction and basic maintenance.
-
General knowledge of plants and ground coverings and their basic maintenance.

Ability to use sound judgment and initiative in decision-making and to problem solve by utilizing resource materials and communication with others.

Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
-
Flexible and reliable.
-
Ability to carry out oral and written instructions.
-
Ability to analyze, conceptualize and plan.
Education & Experience Requirements
-
Two (2) years experience in related trade or field equivalent.
-
Two year degree or equivalent in a related field preferred.
Hours
-
Full-time position, primarily Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
-
Duties might require occasional evening, weekend and after hour calls.

Observed holidays are outlined in the employee handbook and policy and procedures.
Pay
-
$20 - $25 hour

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
