Full-time Position
Position Summary
-
Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and is responsible for providing a variety of direct patient care support services and tasks

Documents consistently all care, services and observations in accordance with hospice protocol and keeps RN informed of changes in patient’s condition

Employs appropriate and safe techniques in performing personal hygiene, grooming tasks, assistance in activities of daily living and CNA services to hospice patients in compliance with federal, state and hospice regulations
Skill & Knowledge Requirements

Comfortable in maintaining professional boundaries

Ability to work with patients and families coping with a terminal illness

Ability to independently provide direct personal care services to patients in a facility setting

Must have good communication skills both verbally and non-verbally. Ability to deal with people in crisis in a mature and non-judgmental manner
Educational and Experience Requirements

Facility setting certification from a State of Hawai'i Certified Nurse Aide Training Program.

At least two (2) years CNA experience in a facility healthcare setting or equivalent preferred.

Valid CPR certification.

Must be available for shift work during: day/evening/weekend/holiday
