Position Summary:
Hawaii Care Choices Nurse Apprenticeship Program supports newly graduated nurses to become talented RN specialists in serious illness. This program will enrich patient-centered delivery of care for our community. Our one-year program provides new graduates a supportive framework, blended with opportunities for continued learning experiences to build cognitive and critical thinking skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Nurse Apprenticeship program is a one-year program designed to facilitate the transition of the newly graduated nurse or registered nurse with less than one-year acute care experience into the work setting. Program highlights include (time commitment will vary according to unit specialty)

Interaction with preceptors and clinical end of life care nurses

Some specialty areas will have a more detailed orientation with increased time and commitment

Educational and Experience Requirements

Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing and have less than one year of acute care nursing experience (please include official transcript of degree)

Must have RN license or be licensed-eligible in the state

Out-of-state new graduates must have NCLEX scheduled by the time the apprenticeship program begins

Pay Range

$36.00 - $38.00/ per hour
Commitment

The nurse apprenticeship program is a two-year commitment (one year training and one year of home care work depending on placement)
