Patient Care Assistant

Location: Corporate

Position Summary

  • Provides administrative support within the admissions team to clinical personnel.

  • Creates EMR charts including the maintenance and uploading of documents & data.

  • Ensures completion of all new admission charts/paperwork.

  • Provides follow up for any pending documentation after the admissions process.

  • Coordinates and ensures all consents are signed as well as ensures care team members are communicated to.

  • Performs updates to admissions and discharges in the EMR system.

Skill & Knowledge Requirements

  • Competent working knowledge/skills with Windows and Microsoft Office computer software.

  • Experience in implementation of software packages and use of information technology.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).

  • Ability to use sound judgment in decision making and problem solving by utilizing resource materials and communication with others.

  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.

  • Ethical Conduct.

  • Time Management.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of Associates Degree; preferably in Office Administration or Technology.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare environment or equivalent position.
