Location: Homecare

Position Summary

  • Provides spiritual counseling and support for Hawaii Care Choices patients and families, in keeping with the patient’s and families’ personal desires and belief system(s).

  • Acts a liaison and educator between Hawaii Care Choices and community clergy and their organized faith community.

  • Directs and provides spiritual care for the Interdisciplinary Team.

  • Participates in memorial/funeral services as requested for those families not affiliated with a church or those who request participation.

Skill & Knowledge Requirements

  • Highly skilled and self motivated individual with the ability to exercise independent sound judgment in decision making, planning and provision of quality spiritual care and education.

  • Possession of critical assessment and thinking skills.

  • Ability to embrace people from different ethnicities, beliefs and faith traditions.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent with experience in/and a desire to provide spiritual care.

  • Adequate educational and experiential levels to meet the needs of the patients, care givers and regulations established by state and federal laws.

  • Experience providing bereavement and spiritual care in a hospice type setting preferred.

  • •Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
